Obiettivi formativi
Il corso è finalizzato a:
Far conoscere agli studenti:
a) To introduce students with:
- The principal authors and theoretical models that deal with communication in a cognitive perspective and the model of persuasive communication.
- The main features that differentiate the two basic forms of communication (linguistic and extra-linguistic)
- The main pragmatic theoretical models comprising the reference framework for understanding communication disorders in neuropsychological conditions (cranial trauma, focal disease) and psychiatric conditions (autism, schizophrenia) in which the communication disorder is a key factor. Particular emphasis will be placed on the relations between normal and pathological psychological function;
- The main assessment tools (psychological tests) for evaluating pragmatic communicative disorders;

Programma
Communication is a cooperative activity between agents, who together construct the meaning of their interaction while engaged in sharing what happens in their social and mental space.
The course includes the main authors and models within the pragmatic and cognitive domain, including the model of persuasive communication. The principal expressive means, i.e. linguistic, extralinguistic and paralinguistic, able to realize a communicative interaction, will be analyzed.
The different cognitive components and processes underlying a communicative process will be also analyzed. It will be outlined the development of communication skills in children.
In the second part of the course will cover the main communicative / pragmatic deficit, in individuals with acquired brain injury and psychiatric disorders, with the presentation of case studies and empirical researches. Finally the main assessment tools for the study of these deficits and rehabilitative strategies will be discussed.
